IRS Publication 509 has a 12-month calendar divided into quarters with specific dates for filing taxes, paying taxes and taking other actions required by Federal law. The three calendars included are general, employer’s and excise.
Small businesses and the self-employed can find the 2012 tax calendar in both English and Spanish versions at www.tax.gov/calendar/.

It does seem like the IRS is offering ways to make it easier. I would rather see it downsized to a simple plan like a flat tax.
